Great Indian Petrol Pump Fraud

In some of the hotels & even fast food chains like Mac, KFC etc in Japan,
they usually shout in loud voice almost like announcing the amount you gave
them.

I was wondering why they do these. Then to my surprise I came to know that
it is to let you & others know how much you gave, so there are no mistakes
from either party. That's how they treat customer. Because, THEY dont want
to do any mistake.

But here, they make sure they do some mistake to get more money. Um, long
way my friends.

Only solution is, i guess, to always ask him to fill the tank :)

Guys, this can happen anywhere.

Whenever I hand over more than a $20 note in the US, I usually will
say
the number when handing the cash over as in "Here is a $50 note
against
my $20.25 bill". It is so unusual that you will invariably here an
'acknowledgement' on it.

This has saved me any hassles of proving 'who is right' after an
incidence happened to me 12-15 years ago where I gave one
denomination,
and it got interpreted differently. That is it for me.

Hope this helps.
